YOLO Wellbeing Therapist

What do you like most about your job?

I really enjoy meeting different people. I feel grateful to be able to offer a wellbeing service that can make such a positive difference to other people’s health and wellbeing. I find the physiology of the human body fascinating, how everything is connected and how muscles can be manipulated to free up movement and improve posture. Being a massage therapist has taught me how important it is to look after my own body and mind because it truly is the only place we have to live.

What is most rewarding about being part of Team YOLO?

The most rewarding for me is being part of a team where we all share the same values. We all want to help others feel their best both physically and mentally. Being able to offer people some tranquil time out, ease customers neck and shoulder pain and help them to feel refreshed and relaxed ready to take on their week. There’s no greater feeling than knowing you’re adding value to someone else’s life.

What have been the greatest highs so far?

My greatest high so far is possibly the van training. If someone told me a few years ago that I’d be driving a van, I’d have probably laughed and shied away from it. It feels good knowing I have given it a go and I absolutely loved every minute of it.

How is it different to working in your own business?

Working with YOLO is completely different to working in my own business. I offer full body treatments usually lasting between 60 and 90 minutes and include oils which are directly applied to my clients skin. With YOLO Therapy we provide seated chair massage, concentrating on the customers head, neck, shoulders and upper back. We don’t use any oils or massage mediums as the massage is carried out directly over the top of the customers clothing. YOLO Therapy is extremely effective and enables us to help more customers.

How have you found the training and delivery?

The training has been excellent. It’s informative, interesting and fun and has expanded my knowledge, in particular with regards to trigger points and deeper tissue work.

I’ve enjoyed learning how to apply deeper pressure without relying on my thumbs too much and instead using my forearms and elbows to achieve great results. The training was very well delivered, in a way that was fun whilst still being thorough and professional.

How does working with YOLO enhance your own business offerings?

Working with YOLO places me in front of a wider audience, allowing me to offer my own massage services for customers who may want longer treatments. The new techniques and knowledge I have gained can be incorporated into my own practice with clients.
